Bradley W. Moatz, MD

Maryland is pleased to welcome Dr. Bradley W. Moatz, as the latest addition to its team of Orthopaedic physicians.

Dr. Moatz graduated with Honors and High Distinction from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.  He then graduated from The Pennsylvania State University, College of Medicine with Honors before completing his residency at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore.  From there he was the recipient of a Spine Fellowship from Emory University in Atlanta, GA.  The Emory Orthopaedics and Spine Center offers spine fellows a wide variety of clinical experience including degenerative, trauma, deformity, tumor and infection surgeries.

On choosing to specialize in orthopedics versus other types of medicine, Dr. Moatz said, “During my orthopedics rotation in medical school I found I enjoyed working with patients who had a variety of musculoskeletal problems, such as degenerative joint disease, traumatic fractures, or spinal stenosis.  Each day brought new challenges, from learning to diagnose a sprained ankle in clinic, to casting a fracture in the emergency room or assisting in total knee replacement surgery.  It gave me a great sense of accomplishment and pride to contribute to restoring function and improving the quality of life in my patients”.

His hometown is Villanova, PA, however during his six years of residency at Union Memorial Hospital, Baltimore became home for Dr. Moatz, his wife and children, and since arriving from Atlanta they look forward to raising their two boys here.  They enjoy the diverse population, the concentration of medical expertise, and access to many metropolitan areas, all making Baltimore an ideal choice for his practice. In his free time he enjoys running, golf, traveling, reading, as well as car and home repair.

Dr. Moatz is a member of The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the North American Spine Society.
